SELF-CONTROL AND WISDOM (James 1:19-26)

The Wisdom of Restraint reminds us to listen more than we talk. Perhaps that explains why we have two ears and one mouth!

As James wrote: Know this, my beloved brothers: Let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger; for man’s anger does not produce the righteousness of God.

The Dangers of Unbridled Emotions can lead to anger and strife. If anyone thinks they are religious but fails to bridle and tame their tongue, anger, and actions, they deceive their heart, and their religion is a compliance to the laws of men.

The Power of Mindful Discernment is the intentional act of choosing wisely from the many thoughts and reasoning our minds produce. It is a rare virtue that enables us to navigate life’s challenges with clarity and purpose.
