OUR FATHER, WHO ART IN HEAVEN
Jesus taught us to pray, saying:
“Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” (Matthew 6:9–10)
What are the direct implications of this prayer?
It reveals a profound truth: heaven and earth are two distinct realms. God, having entrusted humanity with dominion over the earth, is not eager to trade places with us.
Rather, He invites us to work with Him to make the earth reflect the beauty, order, and righteousness of heaven.
This resonates with Jesus’ later words: “It is my Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom” (Luke 12:32), and to bless you with life in abundance here and now.
As we journey and partner with God here on earth, may the lord empower us to embrace our divine assignment of bringing heaven’s values into our homes, workplaces, and communities.
