DARKNESS IS MERELY THE ABSENCE OF LIGHT
“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” (John 1:5 (NIV)
Life often presents us with contrasting realities: good and evil, hope and despair, faith and doubt.
When tribulations, desperation, and suffering surround us, it is easy to feel desolate, disappointed, and even question God’s existence. Many cry out in frustration: “God, where are You? If You truly exist, why is this happening?”
But here is a profound truth: evil has no real power outside what we feed our minds and allow our subconscious mind to believe in absolute terms.
Most of our fears are born out of ignorance, wrong religious and traditional teachings, and the confusion they create in our carnal mind. Fear thrives in the absence of truth, just as darkness exists only in the absence of light.
Consider this simple illustration: when you enter a dark room and switch on the light, darkness disappears instantly, without resistance because darkness has no substance of its own; it cannot fight the light. In the same way, evil cannot prevail where truth and faith reign.
God is love and filled with pure goodness, and His love is absolute and unconditional. When we trust Him fully, we open ourselves to that goodness. The fears we entertain and the doubts we harbour are practically the walls that separate us from His unconditional love.
Transformation begins from within. For true change to happen, your subconscious mind must be renewed. A mindset shift is indispensable if we desire to replace fear with faith, despair with hope, and darkness with the radiant light of God’s Word.
Food for thought:
- What fears or doubts have you allowed to overshadow God’s truth in your life?
- Do you believe that light always overcomes darkness?
