ARE YOU WORRIED ABOUT THE “HOW” AND OBSESSED OVER THE “WHEN”?
Bible Reflection: Be anxious about nothing… and peace will locate you
(Phil 4: 6-7)
When you allow your mind to wander into the territory of how things will happen, you soon become obsessed with when they will happen.
Before long, fear begins its quiet work. It creeps in, grips your heart, and imprisons your mind, body, and soul.
This is how anxiety steals peace. It starts subtly, then grows into a storm that clouds your spiritual vision.
The danger is that these thoughts do not end with the day. Whatever negative mindset you carry into the night becomes a burden to your subconscious mind. While your body rests, your inner man remains awake, trying to analyse, interpret, and reorganise the junk you fed it.
Your subconscious does not argue. It does not correct. It accepts whatever you give it and begins to expand it, whether good or bad.
If you feed your conscious mind with fear, doubt, and worry, your subconscious mind faithfully magnifies them. It works tirelessly while you sleep, reinforcing the very outcomes you dread.
This is why the things you fear often begin to shape your reality, just as it happened to Job, who confessed, “The thing I greatly feared has come upon me.”
The heart is a fertile soil. It produces exactly what is planted in it. Scripture reminds us that “as a man thinketh in his heart, so he becomes.” Your thoughts create patterns. Your patterns form habits. Your habits shape destiny.
So guard your thoughts. Attend carefully to what you allow your mind to dwell on. Sow faith, not fear. Sow gratitude, not doubt. Sow hope, not anxiety.
When your mind is aligned with God’s peace, your subconscious becomes a workshop of wisdom, creativity, and divine direction, even while you sleep.
Food for thought: Choose what you feed your heart. It will return to you multiplied.
