BETWEEN EVOLUTION AND INVOLUTION

Romans 12:2
“This 2026, Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God daily.”

Every day of 2026 will quietly place you between two invisible forces, evolution and involution.

Evolution is the gentle, upward pull of growth. It is the voice that invites you to think higher, love deeper, forgive quicker, and live more intentionally.

Evolution is the movement of the spirit toward clarity, maturity, and alignment with God’s will.

*Involution is the opposite. It is not always loud or dramatic. It is the slow inner collapse that happens when a person stops renewing the mind. *It shows itself in repeated fears, old resentments, negative self-talk, and habits that no longer serve your destiny.*

Involution is not always falling down. Often, it is simply refusing to rise.

Paul understood this when he wrote, “Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” He did not say, “Be transformed by changing your location,” or “by changing your enemies,” or “by changing your circumstances.”
St Paul pointed directly to the inner world, because that is where evolution or involution is decided.
Your outer life is a reflection of your inner agreement.

When your thoughts are renewed, your direction changes. When your thinking stays the same, your life repeats itself in circles.

This explains why many people move into a new year but carry the same old struggles. The calendar changes, but the mind remains unchanged.

2026 will not automatically become your best year just because of prayers, declarations, or resolutions. It will become your best year only if your mindset evolves. Each time you choose gratitude over complaint, faith over fear, discipline over excuses, and love over bitterness, you are choosing evolution.

Each time you allow hopelessness, resentment, or self-doubt to rule your thoughts, you slide quietly into involution.

Proverbs reminds us that “the path of the just is like the shining light, that shines more and more unto the perfect day.” Light never stands still. It either grows brighter or it fades. So does the human spirit.

Today, and every day of 2026, you are not standing still. You are either rising or declining inside. Choose to rise. Choose to renew. Choose to evolve.
