DO NOT JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER
(1 Samuel 16:7, Isaiah 55:8-9, Matthew 7:3-5)

Sometimes, we tend to make choices based on our physical perceptions. The eye, we say, eats first before the taste bud passes resolutive judgment (The taste of the pudding is in the eating)

In like manner, we often pass judgements on people without knowing anything about their person and character. (Bias and wrong perception)

We tend to play God in other people’s lives. We desire to take off the sand in their eye, forgetting the bag of cement in our own eyes. (Self righteousness)

My ways are not your ways said the Lord, and unlike men, I look at the heart and not at the outward appearances.
