DOCTRINES OF MEN VS DOCTRINES OF CHRIST

VAIN WORSHIP

“And in vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.” (Matthew 15:9)

Worship without truth is empty, no matter how passionate or religious it may appear. Some anchor their judgement in how long you can fast, how loudly you can pray, or how fluently you can speak in tongues. But as Apostle Paul reminds us, all of these are vain glory if a Christlike love is not visible in your lifestyle.

Jesus Christ Himself confronted the religious leaders of His day for elevating human traditions above God’s Word. Their ceremonies were loud, their rituals impressive—but their hearts were far from God.

True worship is anchored in God’s Word and Christ’s example, not in man’s inventions. The heart of worship is love: love for God and love for neighbour.

Has tradition quietly replaced your intimate relationship with God? Are you more focused on looking holier than others instead of walking humbly with God? Is your faith about performance before people, or communion with the Father?

Choose today to pursue a relationship with God over ritual worship. Let your acts of worship spring from love, not competition. Measure your faith not by outward performance but by inner transformation through Christ.
