YOU WERE SENT TO EARTH ON AN ASSIGNMENT
Scripture Reflection
John 17:4
“I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do.”
2 Corinthians 5:20
“Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us.”
How wonderful life truly is while we are in this world.
The what-ifs, the dreams, and even the imaginations we hold about life after death can only find meaning when we first discover our earthly assignment and diligently carry out the purpose for which we were sent here.
If we place ourselves in God’s position, and think as a father, the picture becomes very sobering. Imagine sending a child as your ambassador, trusting him with your name, your values, and your vision. He is given time, resources, protection, and freedom to act. Then he returns home with no testimony, no impact, no account of the mission he was sent to accomplish.
It would not be anger that breaks the father’s heart first, but rather a deep disappointment, not because the child failed to be perfect, but because he failed to be intentional. He lived, but he did not represent. He existed, but he did not execute.
#Life on earth is not a rehearsal. It is the field assignment.
Heaven is not impressed by how long we lived, but by how faithfully we lived on purpose because that is what gives heaven a report, just like Service gives life meaning and Impact gives eternity context.
Jesus did not return to the Father speaking of comfort or longevity. He returned with this testimony, “I have finished the work.” Completion glorifies God more than mere activity.
The greatest tragedy is not death itself, but to live and never become an ambassador of the light you carry within.
#While you are here, live intentionally, love deeply, serve faithfully, and build something that outlives you, so that when you return, your life will speak for you, and your mission will testify that you did not merely pass through the world, you represented the One who sent you.
