RESENTMENT IS A POISONED MEMORY

“Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.” (Ephesians 4:31–32)

Resentment grows where forgiveness is withheld. It begins as a wound and matures into a wall. What starts as hurt becomes hardness of heart, and soon, peace gives way to bitterness.

Resentment poisons our memories, making us relive the pain of the past instead of embracing the healing of the present. (Stop letting past hurts steal away your present joy)

Every time we rehearse an offence, we reopen the wound. But when we forgive, we let God pour His healing balm into our hearts.

Forgiveness does not excuse what happened, it releases us from the spiritual weight of it. It sets us free from the chains of anger and gives us room to breathe again.

Christ forgave us fully and freely, not because we deserved it, but because love demanded it. In the same way, releasing resentment is not weakness; it is spiritual strength. It is the path to peace, healing, and restored fellowship with God.

Food for Thought: Resentment chains you to the past; forgiveness releases your future.
