THE CALL TO WATCHFULNESS
Awake, Alert, and Anchored in the Spirit
Mark 13:35–37 “Watch therefore, for you do not know when the master of the house is coming… And what I say to you, I say to all: Watch!”
Spiritual watchfulness is not about anxiety or fear. It is about awareness, a heart tuned to the frequency of the Spirit. The watchful soul stays awake, not because of worry, but because of love and readiness.
The unwatchful heart grows dull, distracted by the noise of life, while the watchful heart stays sensitive to divine whispers.
Jesus calls us to live with open eyes and burning hearts, discerning the movements of heaven amid the motions of earth, for everything that happens in the physical is decided in the spiritual.
To watch is to wait in faith, to live in readiness, and to be anchored in hope. Even when delays come, the watchful remain steadfast, for they know that God’s time, purpose and ways are beyond human comprehension. His answers are triple fold: Yes, No, Not Yet.
The help we need is for the Lord to give us a discerning heart amid life’s distractions.
