THE CONNECTION BETWEEN LOVE FOR GOD AND LOVE FOR NEIGHBOURS
(Mark 12:30-31)
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.” and “Love your neighbor as yourself.” (On these two commandments hangs all the laws and the prophets)
By loving God with every aspect of our being and loving our neighbours as ourselves, we demonstrate our commitment to our faith and to treating others with kindness, respect, and compassion.
As Jesus emphasized, there’s an intrinsic link between loving God and loving our neighbors. In 1 John 4:20, it’s written: “If anyone says, ‘I love God,’ yet hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen.”
Strive to embody these values, reflecting God’s love to those around you and living out your faith in practical ways.
