THE JOURNEY TO FREEDOM (Part 4)
When Egypt Leaves Your Mindset
(Romans 12:2; Numbers 14:1–4)
Leaving Egypt was only the first step for Israel. But even after their bodies were free, their minds remained enslaved. Time and again they cried, “Let us return to Egypt” (Numbers 14:4). Their chains had been broken, yet their thoughts still belonged to Pharaoh. (Slave mentality)
True freedom is not simply geographical—it is spiritual and mental. You can be out of the prison but still carry a prisoner’s mentality. You can leave the toxic relationship, the addiction, the destructive habit, or the cycle of failure, yet still think and act as though you are bound.
This is why the Apostle Paul urges: “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind” (Romans 12:2). Deliverance gets you out of Egypt, but transformation is when Egypt finally gets out of you.
Egypt represents fear, doubt, rebellion, procrastination, and unbelief. As long as those attitudes dominate your thinking, you cannot step fully into your promised land. God calls you to replace them with courage, faith, obedience, and perseverance.
The journey to freedom, therefore, is not only outward but inward. Until your mind is renewed, you will keep walking in circles in the same wilderness. But when your thoughts align with God’s truth, you begin to live as a child of the Kingdom, walking in confidence and purpose.
Freedom, therefore, is not just leaving Egypt, but allowing God to transform your mind into Kingdom thinking, reasoning and acting.
