WHERE ARE THE NINE?

Luke 17:17–18
“Jesus asked, ‘Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? Has no one returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?’”

Jesus healed ten lepers, but only one came back to say thank you.
All ten received mercy, yet only one returned with gratitude.

The miracle was given freely, but recognition was not automatic.
The nine did not deny the healing. They simply moved on. Perhaps they were too excited to go home, busy rebuilding their lives or they assumed they deserved it.

Whatever their reasons, something vital was missing, a heart that knew how to return.

And Jesus noticed.
“Where are the nine?” He asked.
Not because He needed their thanks, but because gratitude is a spiritual position.

Gratitude is not politeness, it is alignment that tells heaven, “I recognise the source of my blessing.”

When heaven sees recognition, it releases multiplication.
The one who returned did not just receive healing. He received wholeness.

Jesus said, “Your faith has made you whole.” The others were cured, but only one was restored.

Ingratitude is a quiet destiny killer. It does not always look rebellious, yet it cuts the flow of increase or more favour.

When you honour what God has already done, you create room for what He is yet to do.
In Igbo wisdom it is said, “Eto dike na nke omere, omekwa ọzọ.” He who is thanked for what he has done is encouraged to do more.

#Gratitude is not the end of a miracle. It is the doorway to the next one.
