LETTING GO IS NOT GIVING UP

“Cast all your cares upon Him, for He cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:7)

Often, believers confuse letting go with giving up.

Resistance and persistence are part of human nature. Many believe that maintaining control over everything is the surest way to keep life from falling apart. They fear that the moment they give up, everything will collapse.

But the opposite is true. When you resist too much, you drain your strength. Your energy depletes, and you become weary, trying to command the physical without allowing God to take the lead.

Giving up is surrendering in defeat, but letting go is trusting God while keeping your faith in the flow, just like a river that knows its course because it follows its source.

Resistance grows strongest when your desire turns into obsession. What began as a pure longing becomes a feeling of lack, not a signal of possession. This inner struggle is often born from fear, fear of loss, failure, or rejection.

Letting go is not weakness; it is wisdom. It is understanding your limits, recognising where your control ends, and allowing God to handle what your hands cannot. It is freeing your mind and heart from burdens that only divine grace can carry.

To let go, therefore, is to learn where to draw the sacred line between desire, hope, and reality, trusting that in the space beyond your reach, God’s hand is already at work.
