THE JOURNEY TO BECOMING A KINGDOM CITIZEN HERE ON EARTH
(Romans 12:14–20)
Becoming a true citizen of God’s Kingdom is not an overnight experience—it is a lifelong journey of transformation. It requires aligning our thoughts, actions, and relationships with the principles of heaven, even while living on earth. Paul’s message in Romans 12:14–20 serves as a foundational guide for this journey. These principles may be hard, but they are non-negotiable for anyone who truly desires kingdom citizenship.
- Bless, Don’t Curse
“Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.”
Kingdom living calls us to respond with grace instead of retaliation. To bless those who hurt us is to demonstrate the love of Christ in action.
- Live Empathetically
“Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.”
True kingdom citizens share in the experiences of others—without jealousy in good times and without indifference in hard times.
- Walk in Humility
“Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud but be willing to associate with people of low position.”
The kingdom of God dismantles social pride. In this journey, humility is not optional—it is the way.
- Overcome Evil with Good
“Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone.”
Retaliation is the language of the world; forgiveness and goodness are the dialects of the Kingdom.
- Pursue Peace
“If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.”
Peace may not always be possible, but we must strive for it at every opportunity. It reflects the heart of God.
- Leave Vengeance to God
“Do not take revenge… It is mine to avenge; I will repay, says the Lord.”
Trust God’s justice system. Kingdom citizens never fight dirty battles—they hand them over to God.
- Respond with Radical Kindness
“If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if thirsty, give him something to drink.”
This is not weakness; this is spiritual strength. It is love at its highest expression, and it breaks the chains of hatred.
Living by these principles is not just religion; it is Kingdom culture. It requires surrender, discipline, and reliance on the Holy Spirit. This is the entry-level course (Level 101) for anyone who truly wants to live as a Kingdom citizen here on earth.
Today, would you show kindness to someone who least expects it from you.?
