WHEN GOD TESTS THE HEART
Bible Reflection
(Proverbs 17:3)
“The refining pot is for silver, and the furnace for gold: but the Lord trieth the hearts.”
There are seasons when God does not test your strength, your skill, or your creativity. He tests your heart. He looks beyond what you do and examines why you do it.
Your motives matter to God. Your intentions matter to Him. Your heart posture matters more than your performance.
Before God entrusts greater responsibility to a believer, He checks the heart that will carry that responsibility. A heart filled with pride will misuse influence. A heart harbouring bitterness will distort assignments. A heart controlled by fear will sabotage opportunities heaven intends to release.
This is why God refines the heart before He elevates the vessel.
Heart tests come quietly. Sometimes they come through difficult people. Sometimes through delayed answers. Sometimes through responsibilities that seem beneath your potential. Sometimes through situations that challenge your reactions.
In each of these moments, God watches, not to condemn, but to build you.
You grow when you choose forgiveness over resentment. You mature when you choose patience over frustration. You rise when you choose integrity over convenience.
These are the silent victories that shape the vessel into one God can trust.
When your heart is pure, your rise will be stable. When your motives align with God’s purpose, your influence will carry weight. When humility becomes your foundation, God can lift you without fear of pride destroying you.
Heaven invests heavily in the heart that has been tested and found faithful.
Food for Thought: God use me is our constant desire, but the moment people use and abuse us, we cry and complain without knowing that God allowed it, to test our mindset and resilience
